Definition of “Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) with CO2 Sequestration” :

“Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) with CO2 Sequestration” is a process that enhances the extraction of oil from an oil field by injecting carbon dioxide (CO2) into the reservoir. The injected CO2 acts as a solvent, making the oil easier to pump out. The process also helps in reducing greenhouse gas emissions as the CO2, instead of being released into the atmosphere, is trapped or ‘sequestered’ underground.
